Easy vanilla yogurt
Heat milk to 180 degrees F while stirring frequently to prevent scorching. Remove from heat.
Add Junket, powdered milk and vanilla extract, stir until dissolved.
Cool to 110 degrees F.
Stir 1 cup of the warm milk mixture into the plain yogurt, stirring well.
Return the yogurt mixture back into the warmed milk, stir well.
Fill 14 yogurt jars and place into yogurt machine.
Leave undisturbed in yogurt maker for 9 hours.
Remove from yogurt maker, cap & refrigerate prior to eating
Check the Internet for alternate ways of maintaining 110 deg if you don't have a yogurt maker
If you don't have a yogurt maker you can incubate your yogurt in a crockpot set on the lowest setting as long as the temperature is around 110 deg F.
The powdered milk improves the consistency and nutritional quality of the yogurt.
Consume within 2 weeks...mine never lasts that long (usually gone in less than a week.
