"I just made ths for supper and my family really enjoyed it!! I added garlic to my water (1 1/2 c.) while the carrots cooked. Once the water evaporated I added the remaining ingredients plus some parsley. It was just the right amount of sweetness & was super easy to prepare!! My husband told me I can make carrots like that all the time & the triplets couldn't get enough of them!! Thanks!!"


6 md Carrots; halved, sliced
2 tb Brown Sugar; firmly packed
2 tsp margarine
1 tb Honey
1 ds Salt

Original recipe makes 3 Servings



In a medium saucepan, melt margarine and cook carrots over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.

Add remaining ingredients; heat uncovered for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to glaze.

These instructions say to 'cook carrots as directed' but there is no direction. Fresh carrots don't come with instructions. :) What is your suggestion for cooking?

Try cooking the carrots for about 10 minutes or until fork tender. You can cook them for a shorter period of time, or longer, depending on your taste. - Elizabeth Schneider 2d 5h ago

Excellent -- butter of course instead of margarine. Cooked peeled, chopped carrots of equal (large) density on low for 20 mins in butter, then added 1tb honey, 2 tb brown sugar and stirred. Added fresh thyme toward the end. Simple. Delicious.
