Corn Bread

1 cup Corn meal; white
2 cups Water
1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Water; cold
Oil; enough to deep fry

Original recipe makes 4

Bring the 2 cups of water to a rolling boil. Combine the cornmeal and salt in a bowl... add the boiling water to the dry mixture. Stirring til it can be formed into balls. Dip your hands into the cold water and then pat out patties out of the cornmeal mixture. Make sure your oil is hot enough to fry and slowly add the patties. Cook until golden brown and floating. I use my fry baby to cook this but can be done on stove top as well.

Its a good recipe for real Southern corn bread because it doesnt have sugar in it so I had to try it and it was just great. Easy to make in a deep fryer and real fun to serve up to folks who are used to corn bread coming in a pan and cut into squares.
