1)Place flour and salt in a large bowl.
2)Cut in a butter using your finger tips,a pastry blender (my favorite) or two knives.Mixture should resemble coarse breadcrumbs.
3)Sprinkle the dough with 3 tbsp (45 mL) ice water and with your fingertips or fork ,lightly toss dough,adding another one or two tablespoons, or more, of water if necessary ,just until it is moist enough to come together into a ball.Knead a few time,pat into a flat disk ,wrap in a plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hour. Wrap the dough around rolling pin to lift it into the pie-pan then unroll.
Remove dough from refrigerator about 10 minutes before rolling.
Food Processor Method:-
Place flour,salt, butter in a food processor fitted with a steel blade.Process on/off until mixture resemble coarse breadcrumbs.Sprinkle with 3 tbsp (45 mL) of water( it rarely need more) and process until moist and crumbling but do not let dough come together completely in the machine or dough could be tough.
Place crumbling dough on the counter and lightly knead together to form a ball.
Continue as (described in step 3) above.
