Ready in 45 minutes
"I've made meatballs before and I always thought that I had "the secret" down pat, but I followed the recipe and was really surprised at how great this sandwich was. Thankfully, I made enough for lunch tomorrow!"
Beat egg lightly in large bowl. Add beef, sausage, bread crumbs, cup tomato sauce, onion and bell pepper: mix well.
Form into one inch meat balls and place in 9 x 13 in baking pan. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. I drain them on paper towels to reduce the fat content and add to heated spaghetti sauce. Serve hot on your choice of buns with mozzerella cheese. I use a double batch of (Italian Herb Bread) recipe found at this site and shape into 8 buns. Enjoy!
triciascott 4y agoThis was really good! I substituted the beef with turkey, no sausage or green pepper, and added fresh chopped garlic.
Jujufroggiebaby 4y agoJust made this for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! We like our sandwiches sloppy so I added the left over tomato sauce to the spaghetti sauce. So good! Thanks for posting:-)
kristaresnick 4y agoThese were absolutely delicious!!!! I made them with 1/2 venison and 1/2 italian ground turkey-so, so good.
