These are the best jalapeno poppers. You basically have no grease like you do with the ones done with pork sausage and cheddar cheese
Set out cream cheese to soften.
Pre heat the oven to 325 use the middle rack
Cut the tops off the peppers
Cut them in half length ways
Clean out the seeds.
Fry the pound of turkey sausage. Break the sausage into small pieces. Just before the turkey is done cooking add the kosher salt There should be no grease but if you have any pour it off.
Mix the sausage and cream cheese in a bowl and mix well.
Stuff the peppers halves with the mixture.
Place them on a cookie sheet or oven stone covered with parchment paper.
Place in the oven and cook for 20 to 30 minutes.
You want to have the cream cheese just starting to brown.
If you want to speed up the browning process after cooking for 20 minutes turn your broiler on. You must keep an eye on the
peppers if you use the broiler for browning. The browning process does not take long under the broiler.
Make plenty because they will go quickly. Example we had a 3 day party over labor day and went through 150 whole peppers for 25 people
