This pizza is always a hit at parties and because of its ease, makes an impressive delight to everyone.


1 Pillsbury Pizza crust dough
2/3 cup plain mayonnaise; (Duke's or Hellman's)
2 cups mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup fresh basil leaves; cut into chiffonade
4 cloves garlic; finely chopped
4 roma or plum tomatoes; (up to 5), thinly sliced
1 cup mushrooms; fresh sliced
6 slices chicken; cut into small pieces (Italian flavored works best
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Original recipe makes 12



Preheat oven according to pizza dough's directions. Roll out dough evenly onto large cookie sheet or pizza stone.

For white sauce:

In a medium bowl combine mayonnaise, 1-1/4 cups mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup basil leaves, and garlic and mix well. Using a spatula spread mixture evenly over entire uncooked pizza dough to outer edge.

Layer tomatoes, mushrooms, and chicken slices over entire pizza and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, basil leaves and salt. Bake until crust is crispy and cheese is golden brownabout 15-18 minutes. Remove from oven and cut into slices.

Made this last night..used a packaged crust,spinach instead of basil and added crispy bacon.The sauce really makes it! Very very good.Thanks for a keeper!

6 slices cut into small pieces (Italian flavored works best --- what does this refer to? Chicken? Precooked?
