Originally from a Jell-O add in Reader's Digest, these delicious spritz cookies were one of Mom's recipes that now is a permanent part of my Christmas cookie tradition.
Sift flour with baking powder. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar and gelatin and cream well. Add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Force dough through cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10minutes until golden brown at the edges. Yield - 5 dozen cookies.
You may need to experiment with the baking temp and time. The original recipe called for 13-14 min at 400 degrees, but I found that this burnt the cookies.
