Taco Seasoning mix from Jess
1. Blend all spice ingredients and set aside (or store in an airtight container, if not using right away).
2. Brown ground turkey or beef in a non-stick medium skillet (in a tsp. of olive oil or use a cooking spray). Add spice blend (all of it) to the browned meat and cook 1-2 minutes until well-blended and meat is cooked through.
3. Stir together water and cornstarch to make a slurry. Add to ground meat; bring to a boil. Cook for a minute or two, or until the mixture is thickened.
When I got this spice mix, I just mixed it with a cup of water and the meat and then cooked the meat until it thickened. Did not use cornstarch to thicken the mixture.
