So rich & creamy, everyone will love it
Heat oven to 350(F). coat a 2 quart baking dish with nonstick spray.
Cook penne according to directions on package.
In large bowl, mix cheddar, gruyere, and asiago. Set aside.
Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth and slightly bubbly. In a thin stream, whisk in milk. Stir in onion powder, salt and cayenne. Bring to boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat; whisk in 2-1/2 cups of cheese mixture.
In pasta pot, stir together pasta and cheese sauce. Pour half into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with cup of cheese. Spoon remaining penne into dish and top with remaining cheese.
Bake for 20 minutes. Increase oven to broil and cook an additional 3 minutes until slightly browned.
