Melt butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Once it begins to foam, add the brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
Add the cherries and heat for about 5 minutes until they soften and release a good amount of juice.
Add the vanilla, cinnamon, salt and amaretto. Stir to combine, and take off the heat.
Allow to come to room temperature.
Put the yogurt and half the cherry mixture into a blender and purée.
Add the second half of the cherries and give it a couple pulses so you still have some good chunks of cherry.
Pour into Popsicle molds, leaving room at the top for expansion (so they will not leak cherry goodness all over your freezer).
Run under warm water if they don’t release easily from the molds.
