The most delicious sugar cookies ever! They're light, crispy, and delicate - they'll melt in your mouth.
Beat together sugars, margarine and oil until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Add dry ingredients, mix, chill overnight. Roll into small balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar and place 3 inches apart on baking sheet. Flatten with oiled and sugared glass. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges.
This recipe came from my mother-in-law, LaVelle (Henrichsen) Hahn. She never used a timer - always watched each batch to get them just right. I always marveled at how all of her cookies were perfectly round and brown. Later I figured out the secret. She kept the rejects in the freezer for "family only!"
These cookies freeze well if you are careful not to crush them.
