Simple and very lemony. Delicious.

"This is a great all purpose cake. In my family, we even use it as a birthday cake. In the summer there is nothing better on a hot day than to pull a piece out of the freezer and eat it. We too had lost the recipe until my sister happened on it in an old cook book she got from our Mom after she passed. We often make it with a white cake mix. It is very hard to not get a wonderful simple cake."

Ingredients

1 package lemon cake mix
1 package lemon jello
4 medium Eggs
3/4 cup Water
3/4 cup Vegetable oil
-- Glaze --
1/2 cup Lemon juice
2 cups confectioners sugar

Original recipe makes 10

Servings  

Preparation

Cake:

Combine cake mix, jello, water and oil and beat for three minutes.

Add eggs and beat for three more minutes.

Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Glaze:

Mix lemon juice and sugar. Pour over cake after poking holes all over the top of the cake with a fork. Put glaze on while cake is still warm.

This turned out well! I used raspberry jello powder instead and it came out as a wonderful raspberry lemonade flavor. I iced it with Cool Whip and sprinkled lemon zest on top and this worked well to add a creamy summery touch

I made this to take camping.. I used 3 large eggs instead of 4 medium; no problem.. Everyone loved it!

Very tangy & sweet & easy to make! So so yummy! I look forward to switching up the jello flavors! I used sugar-free jello & it tastes just as flavorful.

I used a large lemon jello. My family loved the cake, and it's very easy to make.
