Maple-Blueberry Sauce

This is an excellent sauce for waffles, pancakes, french toast, ice cream....anything you like. Go wild.


0.25 cup Brown sugar; packed
1 tablespoon cornstarch
0.5 cup Maple Syrup
0.5 cup Water
2 cups Blueberries; fresh or frozen
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
0.125 teaspoon Nutmeg

Original recipe makes 8



In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and cornstarch. Gradually blend in maple syrup and water.

Cook, stirring, until thick and bubbly, about 1 minute. Stir in blueberries, lemon juice and nutmeg. Cool slightly.

Spoon onto pancakes, waffles, ice cream etc..

Top with Whipped cream, if desired.


Be sure to use 100% pure maple syrup.

I made this to pair with 'Best Ever Blueberry Coffee Cake' (found here on 'Big Oven') and can't believe how awesome they were together!! Yumm!!

Delicious! Didn't have real maple syrup, so had to use mrs butterworth instead. Also used an immersion blender after letting the blueberries simmer for about 5 minutes and turned it into blueberry syrup.
