Tasty salad that receives great reviews from eaters!
Cook hamburger and break into very small pieces. Add kidney beans to hamburger while cooking. Drain grease. You can even "wash" the ground chuck in warm water to remove the fat. Meanwhile, layer torn lettuce, onion, and tomatoes in a large bowl. Next add kidney beans and hamburger mixture. Cover with cheddar cheese sprinkled on top and finish with crushed Dorito chips. Serve immediately.
Feel free to add as much cheese as you enjoy. In fact, none of the ingredient proportions should be considered exact! Customize the recipe to suit your tastes.
I normally use Good Season's Italian Dressing which you must premix with vinegar and oil. Another good option is Kraft's Golden Italian dresssing or Marzetti's Sunny Italian Dressing.
