Combine sugar and corn syrup. Cover and microwave for 4 minutes, stir and scrape down the sides every minute. While cooking, butter a 9x13 pan and set aside. Add the peanut butter to the syrup mixture. Stir until mixture is smooth. Add vanilla and stir. Add the cereal and stir to coat. Press into a buttered dish and let cool.
