The BEST darn Meatoaf on the Eastern Boarder


2 tablespoons Mustard
2 pound lean ground beef
A-1 steak sauce
2 teaspoon salt
1 cup dry bread crumbs or oatmeal
2 large Eggs
3/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons parsley flakes
1 small Onion; minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 cup Ketchup
1 cup Brown sugar
2 tablespoons Teriyaki sauce

Original recipe makes 6




Mix 1 cup ketchup with 1/2 cup brown sugar and about the last 20 minutes of baking time put this sauce on top of the meatloaf. These are additional amounts of both Ingredients for the sauce.


Mix all meatloaf ingredients together. Blend well. Pat meatloaf into a 9" loaf pan or make into small individual loaves for single use later. Spread remaining sauce mixture over top of meatloaf. Bake in 400 degree oven for one hour.

Our daughter will only eat Moms Best Meat Loaf. And most the time I just put stuff in and do not measure but she told me I had to measure the stuff out so that she could have the recipe when she left home and got married. So here it is and I hope that you and your family enjoy it as much as we do. We serve it with baked potatoes and corn.

Don't add milk it makes it too soft

the large amount of milk made the meatloaf very soggy...with the oatmeal. My family would not eat it.

Loved it! Did cut back a little on the sugar and added Worchester sauce but it was a fantastic base!

I cut the sugar in half and reduced the milk. It came out well.

Very good!! Don't overdo the brown sugar.. Unless of course you want to!

My husband LOVED this meatloaf and it was the best one I've found for the beloved leftover meatloaf sandwich!

I didn't add the A-1 and replaced it with 3/4 can of tomato soup and added less ketchup. I added the rest of the soup and brown sugar together to put on top of meatloaf for baking. I also used two cups of cooked rice and sausage. This is a very good meal excited for leftovers not mushy at all
