Ready in 45 minutes

This the the creamy green sauce that has made "Momma Ninfa" immortal (at least in Texas)

Ingredients

3 medium Avocados
3 medium Green Tomatoes
4 Fresh Tomatillos
3 cloves Garlic
3 Sprigs Cilantro
2 medium Green Jalapeno Peppers
1 1/2 Cups Sour Cream; low-fat if you must
Salt; to taste

Original recipe makes 8

Servings

Preparation

Peel avocados and place them in a blender. In a medium saucepan, boil tomatoes, tomatillos, garlic, and jalapenos for 15 minutes. Remove from sauce pan and place all ingredients in a blender with the avocados. Add sour cream and blend until smooth

Makes 8 (2 oz) servings

Notes

You can cut back a bit by using fat-free sour cream but "Momma" will probably come back and haunt you. "Momma Ninfa" is the person who popularized fajitas in the Texas culture. She passed on recently but her legacy lives on.
