2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
6 Bananas; sliced
2 cups Milk; whole (of course)
1 5-oz box Instant French Vanilla Pudding
1 8-oz pkg Cream Cheese; softened
1 14-oz can Sweetened Condensed Milk

Original recipe makes 12

Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Because this recipe comes from Paula Deen, you can be assured that it is neither healthy nor low in fat. But that is some goooood eatin'! A modification that I've heard of involves substituting rum-soaked ladyfingers. Obviously, this would be a hit at a 21+ gathering. I couldn't stop myself when my mother-in-law made this.

I used the Vanilla Wafers instead. I also crumbled some wafers up and sprinkled them on the top.

I made this recipe for a 4th of July party and had three ladies come up to me and tell me this is the best Banana Pudding they've ever eaten. My recipes was a little old school though. I used Vanilla Wafers instead of the Chessman cookies.

This recipe doesn't list whipped topping in ingredients or tell you how much to use.

I get so many compliments every time I make this recipe. I love it. However, I always forget to get the whipped topping because it's not in the ingredient list.

Whenever I want to impress a group of people with my dessert expertise, I use this recipe. I even embellish it by shaving dark chocolate over the top. It is an orgasmic finish to any meal, I make it again and again and again! It even stands up to using low fat versions of the ingredients. Super-yummy-licious.

I first tried this scrumptious dessert when my coworker made it. I knew that if it was a Paula Deen recipe, then it was going to be deeee-lish! I'm actually making it tonight for Thanksgiving dessert tommorow. Thanks for posting foxymoron ;)!
