This is from Paula Deen. Once you have it, you will never go back to the oldfashioned kind

"Wow... I make a banana pudding VERY similar to this one! I didn't know me and Paula had so much in common! ;o)

I use less bananas (4) and a bit more cool whip... Love it"

2 bags Pepperidge Farms Chessman Cookies
7 bananas sliced
12 oz container cool whip
2 cups milk
5 oz box of vanilla instant pudding
8 oz cream cheese
14 oz sweetened condensed milk

Original recipe makes 10 Servings

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding and mix until well blended.

In a separate larger bowl, combine cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix till smooth.

Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture, then fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture.

Line the bottom of a 13x9 pan with a layer of cookies (use the broken ones, if any).

Place sliced bananas on top of the cookies.

Spread the pudding mixture on top of the sliced bananas and then top with the remaining chessman cookies.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Joshonda, I'm not sure I can explain folding in written form. Basically gently mix the ingredients. If you stir it you will kill the air that's in the cool whip and it will come out soupy. Goggle it. I'm sure they have videos online.

What's fold?

The technique of "folding" -- as opposed to stirring or whipping -- is designed to keep the mixture light. Using a spatula, insert into the bottom of the mixture and twirl it, bringing the bottom of the mixture to the top. Repeat. Take care to keep the bubbles in the mixture as unaffected as possible. - Steve Murch 5d 10h ago

This is how my mother makes her bp but she still use the vanilla wafers, This is the best.
