Valda's Version
Heat oil in pan, add onion, garlic and bacon, stirring until onion is soft. Add celery, carrot and mushrooms and cook for a further three minutes. Add beef, cook, stirring until well browned.
Add soup, pasta, sauce, herbs and Tabasco, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile add pasta to a large pot of boiling water, boil until just tender, drain.
Combine pasta with beef mixture and top with cheese.
Bake in oven for 15 minutes, or until cheese is browned.
