Pasta with Sausage, Apples and Creamy Cheddar Sauce

Another very easy and tasty pasta dish.

Ingredients

olive oil
1 lb smoked sausage; sliced
1 large tart apple; diced
1 splash half and half or cream
2 cups pasta, cooked and 1/4 cup water reserved
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese; shredded

Original recipe makes 4 Servings

Preparation

In a large frying pan drizzled with oil, sauté sausage on medium heat. When sausage is nice and browned, add apples. Cook about 5 minutes.

Add in cream and 1/4 cup pasta water; stir. Toss in pasta and mix well. Remove from heat and add cheese a little at a time while stirring.

Serve with additional cheese if desired.

I added onions & some red pepper flakes & used vegetable (multi-colored) rotini pasta. We loved it!

its a good dish but it needs better descripton on the portion sizes of the ingredients used. i spiced mine up a little.
