Place butter, milk and chips in a glass mixing bowl. Microwave on high (full power) 1 to 2 minutes, just until chips are melted. Stir until well blended, thick and completely smooth. immediately add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat with mixer until smooth and of spreading consistency. Spread while warm; makes 2 cups.
