Just like famous favorites
1. Dissolve yeast in warm water in small bowl & let stand for several minutes.
2. Combine flour, powdered sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add yeast water mixture and vegetable oil, and stir with a spoon to mix.
3. Form into a ball with hands and knead for 5 minutes on lightly floured surface.
4. Place dough in lightly oiled bowl, cover & store in warm place for 45 minutes to allow dough to double.
5. When dough has risen, preheat oven to 425.
6. Combine baking soda & warm water. Stir to dissolve.
7. Divide dough into 8 even portions, roll each portion until 3 feet long. Pick up both ends of the dough and give it a spin so the middle of the dough spins around once. lay the dough down with the loop nearest to you. Fold the ends toward the bottom & pinch, keeping the twist in the middle.
8. Hold the pinched ends and dip the pretzels into the bath. Lay on paper towels to drain and blot the tops of excess. Arrange on oiled baking sheet & sprinkle with pretzel (kosher) salt.
9. Bake for 4 minutes, then rotate trays and bake 4-5 minutes more. Cool for 4 minutes, brush with melted butter & serve.
