Christmas Cookies.


3/4 cup soft butter; (170 grams)
3/4 cup powdered sugar; (90 grams)
1 egg; (58 grams)
1 teaspoon vanilla; (4 grams)
2 teaspoons peppermint extract; (9 grams)
1/4 teaspoon salt; (2 grams)
1 teaspoon green food coloring or red food coloring; (paste colouring gives a deep shade)
1 3/4 cups flour; (219 grams)
30 chocolate Hershey's chocolate kisses or chocolate; (139 grams)

Original recipe makes 30



Cream together butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt.

Add coloring and mix well to distribute color evenly.

Stir in flour.

Shape in 1 inch balls.

Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Flatten each by pressing a chocolate in each center.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, or until bottom starts to brown.

Had to triple the recipe but they are a keeper. I will continue to make these. Love the red coloring...they came out looking just like the pic!
