Perfect Chocolate Cake: Combine cocoa and boiling water, stirring until smooth; set aside. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt in bowl; add to mixture alternately with cocoa mixture. Stir in vanilla. Use two 10" pans. Bake 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes

WHIPPPED CREAM FILLING: Beat whipping cream and vanilla until foamy; gradually add powdered sugar. Makes 1 cup.

PERFECT CHOCOLATE FROSTING: Combine first three ingredients in saucepan; cook until chocolate melts. Remove from heat; add powdered sugar. Set pan is ice, and beat until frosting holds it shape and loses it gloss. Add a few more drops of half/half if needed to make spreading consistency.

It was moist and delicious!

Adding fresh raspberries on top is pretty.

Very nice, I added orange butter icing filling and made my own chocolate topping, with chocolate sprinkles.. Yum! Rated 5 star <3

I don't even want to give it one star! Cake came out flavorless, like styrofoam; the texture fell apart like sandstone. Even with more than adequate greasing it refused to depart the pan with great catastrophe, claiming the life if the cake. Do NOT recommend and will NEVER even think remotely about using this recipe again!!!!!

Cake is great. Icing is like slip and slide. Do not use this icing if you have any intention of keeping the 2 layers together.

Made it for my sons birthday. We all loved it. Absolutely the best chocolatey chocolate cake I've ever made. Added Jaffa cake layer in middle of mix before baking. Lovely.
