Cook cauliflower in boiling water until tender, around 10 min. Strain and reserve.
Combine potatoes, cauliflower, cheese, salt and pepper in a bowl and mash with a potato masher until blended. It’s fine to have a few lumps. Transfer to a round or rectangular baking dish (13 x 9 in. or 10 in. across /3 L) and bake for 20 min. at 350°F (180°C) in a preheated oven.
