Suggest a better descriptionSift flour, add salt and sift again. Cream butter, add sugar gradually beat until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, beat until thick and lemon colored. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Gently fold into egg yolk mixture. Gradually add dry ingredients and vanilla. (sprinkle in about 1/4 cup at a time). Beat until smooth (about 2 minutes) Pour into greased 9 1/2" by 5 1/2" loaf pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 60-90 minutes.
