This scrumptious loaf fills your house with the scent of pumpkin and spice as it bakes.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Bake Time: 1 hour, 5 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 35 minutes
Oven Temp: 350F / 180C / Gas Mark 4
Loaf Pan Size: 8"x4" / 20cm x 10 cm
Preheat oven. Grease and flour loaf pan. Sift together first 5 ingredients; stir in kosher salt.
Combine sugar, oil and pumpkin in a large bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add egg, beating until well blended. Gradually add dry ingredients, beating at low speed until blended. Transfer batter to prepared pan.
Bake at 350F / 180C / Gas Mark 4 for 1 hour and 5 minutes, or until loaf is golden and a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan on a wire rack 15 minutes; remove from pan. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Makes 1 loaf.

susieq_64 3y agoI made this today instead of pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and it was big hit with the entire family. I made it in two small loaf pans instead of one large. It only took 35 minutes to cook. It is so moist and tasty. I will be making this one again!!!!! :-)

cleverkt 9y agoThis looks great! I can't wait to make it. The only trouble is we don't get canned pumpkin down here in South Africa. I actually have to prepare the pumpkin from scratch. I guess I better make up a whole bunch as I have pies to make as well soon!
