A quick sauce flavored with anchovies, capers and olives.
In a large skillet or saute pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and continue to cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 6-8 minutes.
Stir in the tomatoes, (liquid and all) crushing with your hand before adding (drain the liquid into the skillet before crushing the tomato pulp so that it does not squirt all over you).
Add remaining ingredients, one at a time, stirring well. Reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes.
Serve over pasta, chicken, pork, or fish.
