The main ingredient of the recipe is kidney beans
I put this in a crock pot for 6-8 hours. Plug crock pot in, when heated add chicken broth, water, spices and bay leaf. cook, (optional) onions, garlic , and celery add to crock pot. Cut sausage in 1/2 in slices. ( I cut slices in half, again optional), Cook til lightly browned add to crock pot. Rinse red beans thoroughly and add to crock pot. Cook minimum of 6 hours in crock pot on high, Top with sliced scallions. You can make a good presentation, by using ice cream scoop. scoop rice onto top of individual bowls. sprinkle with scallions
cooking veggies and sausage before putting into crock pot, give it more flavor. Serve with steamed rice
