1.Line two round cake pans with parchment paper, coat with cooking spray and flour
2. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs,applesauce, food coloring, vinegar and vanilla
3. Combine dry ingredients.
4. Add to butter mixture alternating with buttermilk
5. Pour into pans and bake at 350 degrees for about 14-18 minutes
Frosting:
1.Whisk flour and milk in pan and bring to boil
2. Cook and stir 2 minutes, then cool to room temperature
3. Cream butter and sugar then beat in flour mixture and vanilla
