A very old recipe which is very moist due to its use of oil
The instructions were for a food processor but obviously adapt as appropriate
Grease and line 2 x 8"" baking tins, heat oven to 170 * C
Into food processor ( big bowl, metal blade)
Sift together dry cake ingredients except sugar,
Add sugar and syrup then eggs
Switch on and pour the oil and milk down the funnel
Mix for 5 seconds more after adding liquids.
Turn into the two tins and bake 30-35 until done
Icing
Melt the butter in a pan, add cocoa and stir for 1 minute
Stir in milk and icing sugar and mix until smooth
Leave to cool and thicken
Use half to sandwich the cakes together
Use the other half on top
You could add any decoration on top you fancy
