These are great with bbq steaks.
Clean the potatoes.
Cut two slices in the potatoe, lengthwise. nearly but not all the way through.
Slice the onion you need at least 8 slices.
Place a slice of onion and a slice of cheese in each of the cuts in the potatoe.
Add a ts of butter to the top of each potatoe and sprinkle with garlic powder to taste. (You could use sliced garlic cloves inserted with the cheese and onion)
Wrap each potatoe in aluminum foil and place in hot BBQ until done 30-45 minutes depending on the temp. of your BBQ.
