These are a really great treat! You can use any chocolate frosting you like but the Hersheys bars make great frosting!
"Those are magnificent cookies! Time consuming, but worth it! I added toasted and salted pecan pieces on top of the Hershey bar."
Mix Devils food cake, vegetable oil, eggs and flour. Refridgerate dough for 15-30 minutes. Unwrap Rolos and wrap balls of dough around 1 rolo each. Bake at 350 for 9 minutes. Take out of the oven, and while warm, melt Hersheys bar over the top for the frosting.

Mccaslin1 3y agoVery rich, and very good! We mixed some dark chocolate chips into the top 'frosting'. Very good!
Gravis 3y agoNot sure I get it. How many rolos are in a pack, not 40 so I'm assuming you need more than 1 pack...
cjvigg 3y agoFirst time making these last night. I followed the recipe exactly and did encounter two problems. The dough was tough to mix by hand and by mixer. It seemed a little dry and had A LOT of those dry clumps in it which made rolling into a ball shape difficult because it wouldn't stick together. I had to kinda pick them out if I could. The recipe also didn't say how much dough to use per ball. I used roughly a tablespoon, maybe on the generous side. 2 boxes of cake mix, with 4 jumbo eggs, at a tablespoon per ball, made 42 cookies. One bag of Rolos is enough for this recipe but I'd recommend using 2 jumbo packs of Hershey's bars with pieces to each cookie. Once the chocolate melts and cookies cool completely, the chocolate hardens so you can stack them in an air tight container. A good trick is to put a piece of bread in the air tight container to prevent the cookies from going stale. The bread will go stale and hard while the cookies stay soft.
