Root beer? BBQ? Yes... it works. Trust me. The rootbeer breaks down the meat and makes it SUPER tender! Then Try a piece before adding your fav bbq sauce for an amazing dish that costs around $12 for a family Meal
Place your Pork Shoulder/Butt in the crock pot and pour in enough Root Beer to cover the meat.
Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
Drain root beer.
Tear meat apart with forks until shredded to your liking.
Try it... just try it! You should be able to taste the root beer flav in the meat. Its soooo good.
Add your Fav BBQ Sauce, salt/pepper to taste.
Cook on low for another 30 to 45 mins.
Serve how you like it!
This works with ANY dark cola. I have used it with Cherry Diet Dr Pepper and Coke. Rootbeer goes best in my opinion but the Cherry Flav works well.
