Cover the bottom of a skillet with olive oil.
Remove skin and bones from salmon; drain well. In mixing bowl, combine salmon with egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and onion. Make patties about 2 inches in diameter; fry in oil until brown on both sides about 10 minutes.
Sprinkle salmon patties with salt.
whiterabbit421 7m agoPerfect! For those who don't have bread crumbs on hand, crushed saltine crackers are a good substitute.
Minerva79 10m agoVery quick recipe, just what I was looking for, and very easy to double. I subbed dried onion for the fresh chopped because I was running out of time, and I added just a splash of milk to account for them (it was pretty dry when I mixed it all up due to the dried onion). They all cooked up great! I'll never make them as good as my husbands grandmother did, but I'm pretty sure she adjusted her recipe based on humidity, temperature and wind speed that day, also her awesome cast iron skillet. These are close, and very good.

JKMac7 2y agoThese patties were so easy and tasty! I followed the recipe exactly for our first batch then had to make more cause the kids devoured them. I didn't have breadcrumbs for the 2nd batch so I used a box of coating for baking chicken, House Autry brand purchased at W.Mart. Worked great.
sushila 2y agoI added in half a chopped fresh green chill with celery and the onion to make this tasty quick recipe using mainly cupboard ingredients.
hampton86 2y agoSo easy. Amazed at the number of patties I yielded from one can.
Haileydickens 2y agoA good substitution for the bread crumbs is the stovetop stuffing mixture
Flippyfeet2 2y agoI added bell pepper and turmeric the they were very good
NJCheryl 3y agoI used Chipolte Panko breadcrumbs which gave these a nice kick!
