My husband found this recipe years ago and it quickly became a family favourite. The flavours are great and there's never any leftover.
Preheat the oven to moderate - 180°C.
Place the sausages in a pan and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from pan, allow to cool enough to handle, remove skins (if preferred) and cut each sausage into pieces. Place in a casserole dish, add carrot and onion.
Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Stir in sauce, vinegar and water then mix well. Pour this mixture over the sausages and allow to stand for 1 hour if possible.
Bake in the oven for 1½ hours.
