A full breakfast in a muffin, these hearty treats are the perfect way to start a busy holiday morning.
Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, stirring until it crumbles. Drain well. Combine sausage, bisquick and next three ingredients in a bowl; make a well in the center of the mixture.
Combine egg and milk; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Bake at 375 for 22 minutes or until golden Serve warm. Reheat leftover muffins in the microwave for 20-30 seconds.
Used colby jack instead and was very good. The batter seemed to thick but turned out perfectly. Topped each with a few more sprinkles of cheese.
