Ready in 1 hour 45 minutes
A hearty main course that tastes great.
"I used leftover spiral cut ham, not cubed as that is what we had on hand. Also added a handful of shredded cheddar. It was SOOO good that we made it again 2 days later without the ham. This also inspired us to purchase a new food processor to slice the potatoes quickly, :-)"
To make sauce, cook onion in butter or margarine till tender but not brown. Stir in flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Add milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more.
In a 2 quart casserole place 1/2 of the cubed ham and half of the sliced potatoes. Cover with half the sauce. Repeat layers. Bake covered in 350 F oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more or untill potatoes are done.
amfarmer1 1m agoI have made this several times, it is the best scalloped potatoes and ham I have ever had. One of our favorites.

Vii 3m agoVery easy to prepare and the taste is delicious. I'll include to the our weekly menu.
prestone 3m agoJust wondering how this can be ready in 1 hour, as stated at the top, when the baking time alone is 1 and 1/2 hours?
glorystahley 4m agoI love this as a basic scalloped potatoes recipe. I omit the ham and add extra potatoes and onions. Also add garlic and definitely rosemary. Absolutely everyone loves it when made like that! Cheese on top optional but not necessary

thamesfamily 1y agoBig hit with my boys. They loved it so much that they ate half of the dish before I could even take a picture! Big hit.
annaglabe 1y agoDelicious as is! My husband is a picky eater and he went back for seconds and thirds. I added this recipe to my favorites :)
