Ready in 1 hour 45 minutes
A hearty main course that tastes great.
To make sauce, cook onion in butter or margarine till tender but not brown. Stir in flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Add milk. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more.
In a 2 quart casserole place 1/2 of the cubed ham and half of the sliced potatoes. Cover with half the sauce. Repeat layers. Bake covered in 350 F oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more or untill potatoes are done.

prestone 8m agoJust wondering how this can be ready in 1 hour, as stated at the top, when the baking time alone is 1 and 1/2 hours?
glorystahley 9m agoI love this as a basic scalloped potatoes recipe. I omit the ham and add extra potatoes and onions. Also add garlic and definitely rosemary. Absolutely everyone loves it when made like that! Cheese on top optional but not necessary

tracyes11 2y agoLove this recipe. I make a double batch and use bigger baker. I also ad a layer of grated swiss cheese in the middle! Fabulous!
