Top-ranked recipe named "Simple White Cake"
Great to make with kids, especially as cupcakes. Very simple and easy.
"I love this cake! It's very easy, and tastes amazing! I have made it three or four times now and will continue making it because my whole family loves them and requests my 'special cupcakes' very often. Thanks for the great recipe!"- ToriZ13
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9x9 pan or line muffin pan with paper liners. In medium bowl, cream togehter the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in preheated oven. For cupcakes bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.
SamanthaCamara 1 month agoI tried this recipe and the cake was very dense and dry, Thankfully I can make some kick ass buttercream frosting. Very disappointed oh well time to try a better recipe
mapglobal2 1 month agoMade as cupcakes, and I thought this came out ok, just a lot heavier than expected. Perhaps using cake flour rather than regular flour would make a difference? I'll try again in the future.
