Add remaining ingredients (beginning with 2 cups of beef broth)and barely simmer uncovered for 1 to 3 hours. Add more beef broth and cover if it begins to be too thick. You want it to have a soupy consistency.
1 pound thick spaghetti, cooked
2-3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1-2 cups chopped onions
Oyster crackers
To serve, place small amounts of spaghetti in warm shallow soup bowls, then add piping hot chili and garnish with cheese and onions (optional) Pass the oyster crackers.
