"Nice easy recipe and very tasty beans. Instead of the salt pork, I added a ham hock and 12 ounces of sliced sausage. The red pepper gives a liitle kick and a lot of flavor."

Ingredients

1 pound Pinto beans; dried
5 cup Water
1 pound Pork; salt, rinsed well
1 medium Onion; chopped
12 ounce Cola
1 teaspoon Hot pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon Thyme
1/4 teaspoon Oregano

Original recipe makes 8

Servings  

Preparation

Cook beans overnight in slow cooker on low setting with water, salt pork & onion. Add remaining ingredients & cook on low setting for 10 hours or on high setting for 8 hours (or until very tender).
