I really liked this recipe. I didn't add any water after cooking and it is very thick, but I actually like it better than if it were more of a soup consistency. Very filling and hearty. Gives you that nice Home cooked warmth in your stomach. I put the leftovers in jars and sealed them with my Foodsaver. Then you just put it in a bowl and heat it up in the microwave. makes for great leftovers.
I don't know if it was the brand of rice I used but this turned out a pile of mush. The taste was good but it was more like mush casserole than a soup. I was disappointed but will try again with another brand of long grain rice.
