These cookies were a hit in my house as a kid. I hope they will be in yours too.
Pre-heat the oven to 400.
Mix the shortening, sugar, and egg.
Sift the Cream of Tartar, salt, flour, and baking soda into the mixture.
Roll the dough into balls the size of a walnuts.
Roll the balls in a mixture of 1 Tablespoon of sugar and 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon.
Place the balls on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until browned but still soft.
