Grandma Phyllis's recipe
Preheat oven to 350
Mix butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 eggs in a large bowl, thoroughly blending.
combine flour, cream of tartar, salt and baking soda in a small bowl.
Add flour mixture, one third at a time, to the butter mixture, being sure to blend thoroughly each time.
Chill dough on an ungreased cookie sheet in refrigerator for 15-30 minutes.
Mix 3 tbl sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Roll small gobs of dough into balls and roll them around in cinnamon/sugar mixture so they are fully coated.
Cookies will rise and then spread i the open so I usually place three to a row and depending on the size of the sheet, 4-5 rows.
Bake for 10 miutes and remove from sheet immediately.
