A recipe for quick bisquits suitable for breakfast or dinner. Made with Spelt and Kamut flour. Great for people trying to skip wheat products.

Are you making this?
2 cups Spelt Flour
1 cup Bob's Red Mill Kamut Flour
1 teaspoon Non-alum baking powder
1 1/2 cups Buttermilk; soy or rice milk
2 tablespoons Vegetable oil; (optional)
2 tablespoons Honey; or natural sweetener

Original recipe makes 18

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix dry ingredients. Blend liquids and sweetener. Combine mixtures. Mix gently. Batter should be like thick oatmeal. (add 1/4 cup water if too stiff) Drop by round 1/4 cup onto oiled and floured baking sheet or large cast iron skillet. Bake 35 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 18. (Modified from Arrowhead Mills Quick Spelt Bisquits recipe.) Hint: Let the batter stand for 20 or 30 minutes for lighter bisquits.

The oven temp is set for a cookie sheet or baking sheet. If you use a cast iron skillet like I do, expect to turn the oven up to 370 - 375 degrees.
