Suggest a better description1. Clean fish, and cut into 1.5 inch wide and 2.5 inch long slices. Marinate the fish slices with green onion, ginger, soy sauce, salt, and rice wine in a bowl for 4 hours.
2. Bring 1.5 cup of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add sugar and five spice powder, mix well, and keep warm on the stove.
3. Heat 5 cups of oil, deep-fry the marinated fish slices until dark brown about 3 minutes.
4. Remove the fish from frying pan and put in warmed sugar and spice mixture immediately. Soak about 4 minutes.
5. Remove the fish from warm mixture and lay on a garnished platter. Serve cold.
