"I used to hate turkey burgers. I now use the Mar A Lago recipe originally found on the Oprah site. It gets frequent circulation in my kitchen. I always have some patties tucked away in my food saver bags for quick thawing. I also keep a couple pounds of ground turkey in the deep freezer in case I have to whip up another batch. There's always a batch of the Mar A Lago chutney in my frig too. Awesome recipe!"

Ingredients

2 ts Scallion; thinly sliced
4 ts celery; finely chopped
1 Granny Smith apple; shredded
2 ts olive oil
20 ounces ground turkey breast
1 3/4 ts Sea salt
1 ts black pepper; fresh ground
3/4 tsp. Chipotle Tabasco sauce
1/2 lemon; juice and grated zest
1/4 bunch parsley; finely chopped
2 tb Major Grey's Chutney; pureed (Patak brand is good too)

Preparation

saute the scallions, and celery in the olive oil until tender. Let cool.

Place the ground turkey in a large mixing bowl. Add sauteed items and the remaining ingredients. Shape into eight 8-ounce burgers. Refrigerate for 2 hours.

Season the turkey burgers with salt and pepper. Place on a preheated, lightly oiled grill or cooking spray. Grill each side for 7 minutes until meat is thoroughly cooked. Let sit for 5 minutes.

Serve Mar-a-Lago Pear Chutney (Can substitute Patak brand if other is not available) on the side, on a pita , tellera or hamburger roll.

Whats ts is it tablespoon or teaspoon ? 4 ts celery and 1 ts pepper??

It was very tasty but a bit messy to make. One of the best turkey burgers I've had and a unique twist.

Awesome burger, very flavorful! If you have a sensitive stomach to cayenne pepper, I would reduce the Tabasco chipotle sauce, or don't eat more than one ;) [I posted this recipe.]
