Ready in 22 minutes

Sweet, smokey and savory!

"You have to cook the bacon longer, not just 6 minutes per side; and cutting the dates in half will allow for more dates and you still get the FULL flavor-dee-licious! I used hot paprika on some & regular paprika on others, cut the bacon in half before wrapping it around the date, all great!!! Will definitely use this for my next appetizer at a party! "

Ingredients

12 Dates
2 oz stilton blue cheese; cut to fit inside dates
6 slices bacon; cut in half
1/2 tsp smoked paparika

Original recipe makes 6

Servings

Preparation

Preheat oven to 425°F. Using small knife, make small cut in side of each date; remove pit. Insert 1 piece of cheese into each date. Brush bacon slices generously on 1 side with smoked paprika. Wrap each date with 1 piece of bacon, with paprika side against date. Secure bacon with toothpick. Arrange dates on rimmed baking sheet. Roast until bacon is browned on bottom, about 6 minutes. Turn dates; roast until bacon is cooked, about 6 minutes longer. Transfer to plate; cool slightly. Remove toothpicks.

Very nice combo of favors with the blue cheese, paprika and bacon. Even the non-date lovers ate these up as the dates become very neutral. Very good and will definitely make again.
